On the Road to World War III

Ahh,oh! More conflict? India is accusing Pakistan of being involved in carrying out terrorism against India:

India has 'credible evidence' of the involvement of Pakistani agencies in the 7/11 Mumbai serial train blasts, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh said Tuesday.

Just what we needed -- possibly more fighting in the Middle East. It is really starting to look like we are headed for World War III. Wake up people.

There is that word again: Timetable:

America's top general in Iraq said he was considering sending more troops to help quell the violence in Baghdad, as he and the United States ambassador laid out a timetable for progress that they said has been agreed to by the government of Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki.

Corruption is alive and well in New York:

The state Ethics Commission alleged Monday that Comptroller Alan Hevesi illegally used his office to secure privileges for himself and his disabled wife when he assigned a government employee as her chauffeur.

Does this mean that Mr. Hevesi will lose his job? Of course not. He is running for reelection but the Republican opponent won't win because Hevesi is part of the NY Democratic machine. He won't be kicked out of office because he is part...of the NY Democratic machine. He certainly won't resign. And the press put pressure on him to resign. And if the media ignores the story then it didn't happen.
