Lieberman Victory Might not be Enough for Neocons

Neocon Joseph Lieberman has a giant lead in his attempt to get re-elected as Senator of Connecticut. Despite the public's opposition to the Iraq, Lieberman flaunts his support for Bush's adventure. Clearly his ties disdain for his own party hasn't hurt him. In fact, a fellow candidate, a Democrat, had high praise for the Senator eventhough he endorsed his party's choice:
New Jersey Sen. Bob Menendez is battling charges of hypocrisy for telling a Jewish audience that Lieberman is a "tremendous senator" who should be re-elected - despite having formally endorsed Lamont.

Politics is a dirty business, especially in the North East. Party affiliation means very little. And someone who is disloyal to his party and country are tolerated. Despite this Lieberman's win won't matter for Bush unless they maintain control of the Congress.

Someday the people will demand that parole be done away with. In the meantime we continue to read horror stories like this:
A Manhattan grandmother was fatally stabbed yesterday by a man who had just been paroled, police said.

How did a 20-year-old become the focus of a Homeland Security terror alert? It wouldn't have anything to do with the upcoming election, would it? I guess when you are desperate going into the Fall elections you might want to try something that worked before. This might've been the newest October surprise. The first October surprise was actually months old: the drop in oil prices. That doesn't seem to have panned out.

If the Democrats takeover Congress they can thank Congressman Foley. Prior to the weeks old Page scandal Democratic chances looked tenuous. Now the polls show the momentum is with the Dems.
