Alexander Haig: Neocons "Hijacked" My Party

Former Secretary of State in the Reagan administration, Alexander Haig, said his party was "hijacked" by the Neocons and had given us a disastrous situation in Iraq. He made his comment while appearing on Late Edition. Host, Wolf Blitzer, who is an Israeli, took issue with the claim. He asked former National Security Advisor, Zbigniew Brzezinski, whether he agreed with Haig. Brzezinski said Haig was "absolutely right." Both former top officials in previous White Houses denounced the Iraq War as a mistake.

Bad news for Hillary. Barack Obama, a rising star in the Democratic Party, is considering running for the White House in 2008. This is another shot across the bow of the Senator from New York. You can be sure that Obama is being encouraged by Dems who are uneasy with the prospect of Hillary leading their ticket in the next presidential election year.

Senator Lieberman is getting plenty of financial support from the Republicans whom will expect something in return if he is reelected. I wonder how many of those supporters, whom have given him a 17 point lead in polls, know that he, a Democrat, is being financed by the Republicans. And I wonder if voters in Connecticut have seen the ad in where he is calling for change while running against an incumbent who had been in office too long. Not enough, I guess. Then we wonder why it is that we have such lousy government.

The Iraqi ambassador to the U.S., Samir Sumaida'ie, appearing on Cspan, did not seem thrilled by the "timetable" being imposed on his government.
