NY Times: Pentagon Prediction on Iraq is Far-Fetched

The Times used polite language to describe the Pentagon projection on the failed war in Iraq:
Given the rise in sectarian killings, a Sunni-based insurgency that appears to be as potent as ever and an Iraqi security establishment that continues to have difficulties deploying sufficient numbers of motivated and proficient forces in Baghdad, General Casey’s target seems to be an increasingly heroic assumption.

Republicans are cleverly promoting the candidacy of Hillary Clinton:
Vice President Dick Cheney said yesterday Hillary Rodham Clinton could capture the White House in 2008.

"I think Hillary Clinton is a very formidable candidate," Cheney said. "I think she could win."

The GOP knows that the NY Senator would be unlikely to win a general election if nominated by the Democrats in 2008. This is why you continue to hear Republicans praising her formidability factor. And this is also why many Dems are looking elsewhere for a candidate.

Is this what the Conservatives have come to?:
Michael J. Fox's TV pitch for pro-stem-cell Democrats was blasted yesterday by conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh, who accused the actor of faking his Parkinson's disease symptoms.

Bill O'Reilly is an important voice in the culture war. But when it comes to the issue of the war on terror, he's nothing but a White House Lackey:
Repeatedly raising his voice and talking over the former NATO Supreme Allied Commander of Europe, O'Reilly dismissed Clark's contention that talking with America's adversaries, especially Iran, was preferential to military action.

Killer's now have a new defense -- stress. That's what a 15-year-old argued after murdering his stepmom with a kitchen knife. Young people apparently realize that they can gain sympathy by claiming a kind of insanity. Where do they get their ideas.? The media, of course. Everytime someone commits a heinous crime the press plays psychologists. This serves to make the crime seem somehow ok. They were bullied or family problems somehow made them do it. After all, this is the age of unaccountability.
