Invasion of Lebanon was in Planning for Months by Israel, U.S.: Seymour Hersh

Seymour Hersh has confirmed what I believed all along. Israel and the Bush gang were planning to invade Lebanon long before any provocation by Hezbollah. They were waiting for the right time to attack:
"Months before Israel launched its fearsome barrage of air strikes, the plan to do so had already been fully fleshed out, the latest edition of the New Yorker charges....Israeli military leaders had identified specific targets to bring down Hezbollah and were waiting only for an excuse to put the campaign in motion."

U.S. Involvement :
"Israel also denied another Hersh claim: That its military leaders began talking tactics with U.S. generals early this spring, developing a strategy that could be used not only by Israel against Hezbollah, but potentially by U.S. forces in a military campaign against Iran."

Hersh has correctly written in the past that Israel and the White House are planning an eventual attack on Iran:
"Current and former American military and intelligence officials said that Air Force planning groups are drawing up lists of targets, and teams of American combat troops have been ordered into Iran, under cover, to collect targeting data and to establish contact with anti-government ethnic-minority groups."

Hersh also wrote about the same topic in January 2005:
"The Bush administration has been carrying out secret reconnaissance missions to learn about nuclear, chemical and missile sites in Iran in preparation for possible airstrikes there, journalist Seymour Hersh said Sunday."

The San Francisco Chronicle Wrote about the planned Israeli invasion on July 21st:

"Israel's military response by air, land and sea to what it considered a provocation last week by Hezbollah militants is unfolding according to a plan finalized more than a year ago."

Bush and the Neocons also wanted Israel to attack Syria:
"The White House, and in particular White House advisors who belong to the neoconservative movement, allegedly encouraged Israel to attack Syria as an
expansion of its action against Hizbullah, in Lebanon."

This is all part of the Neocon Middle East strategy:
"Neoconservatives, or 'neocons,' believe that the United States should not be ashamed to use its unrivaled military power to promote its values around the world. Several prominent neocon columnists have recently written about the need for Israel to take the current conflict beyond Lebanon to include the countries they consider to be Hizbullah's main backers – Iran and Syria."
