Ceasefire in Middle East Won't Work And Will Buy Time for Israel

Does anyone really believe that any ceasefire in Lebanon will amount to anything? If the Bush mob is behind any attempt at a cessation of violence they do it with the blessing of the Israeli lobby. Israel wants to look like it wants peace with the introduction of peace keeping troops. Already the demands made for end of the conflict by Israel are full of preconditions and will certainly be opposed by Hezbollah. It is a charade. The goal is to appease critics of Israel and that countries Blitzkrieg into Lebanon. The world's outrage over the devastation of Lebanon by Israeli forces has forced the neo-cons to go along with a temporary peace. Israel knows that Hezbollah will act to violate the ceasefire agreement which will give Israel another excuse to attack. Although Israel's failure to destroy Hezbollah has shocked that country and has forced the government there to seek an agreement. Time was on the side of Hezbollah if the war continued.

Hezbollah won the propaganda war which is the ultimate prize. Now the Islamic world is united in its hatred for the U.S. and Israel. And more importantly, the hand of al Qaeda has been strengthened. The recruits joining the cause of terrorism will be increased several fold. We can thank Bush and his neo-con handlers, once again, for making things worse for America. We can only expect more war and terrorism in the future.
