Newt Gingrich calls for U.S. Pullout from Iraq
Newt Gingrich, considered by some the father of the Republican revolution that led to the takeover of Congress in the early '90s, is calling the occupation of Iraq an "enormous mistake." He is the latest important Conservative to come out against the war. Hopefully Gingrich's patriotism will lead to others in the Republican party to call for a withdrawal from Iraq. Gingrich, who is a history professor, knows the writing is on the wall. The only people who think we can win in Iraq are the Bush gang and their naive backers. The American people already know that the war was a failure. And many know that the invasion had very little to do with democracy or terrorism.
