Child Molester too Short to go to Jail

The most ridiculous and outrageous story of the week (in the running for the year):

"A man found guilty of sexually assaulting a child has been given 10 years of probation by a judge who said the man was too small to survive prison."

Does anybody care? Reports of an earthquake in Indonesia killing nearly 3 thousand received almost no coverage this morning on a local TV news channel in NYC. Of course, they made no mention of a UN report that says that 2 million kids worldwide have HIV. They did report - I guess to their credit - that the UN has called for a stockpiling of Bird Flu drugs. They described it as ominous.

The FBI is looking stupid again with all this Hoffa stuff. The media is eating it up: It's "day eleven." Why do they do it to themselves. Shouldn't they be spending more resources on finding terrorists.

The administration claims that it is more prepared than ever for the next major hurricane threat. The experts seem to disagree. News of a thunderstorm that killed 5 people in the Midwest only illustrates the severity of the weather nowadays. Unless you don't believe in global warming like George. In which case I recommend you go see Al Gore's movie.

Hey, what happened to the battle that was supposed to have occurred over the confirmation of Hayden for the CIA post? Apparently they are more preoccupied with the bogus immigration legislation passing through Congress. The war of words has begun between the Senate and House on their differing versions of the proposed immigration bills.
