The Kennedy Cover-up A Success

Apparently the Kennedy's did learn their lesson. The cover-up of Patrick Kennedy's drunken driving accident has succeeded. The story is no longer in the press. A Google search shows a grand total of 5 news stories since it was reported that Mr. Kennedy would go into drug rehab on May 5th. This out of a total of over 3,000 stories on or about the period of the car accident on May 4th.

How does a juicy scandal like this one disappear from the headlines? This at a time when the top story is the FBI's searching for Hoffa's body in Detroit. The media loves scandals especially those that involve politicians. A Kennedy involved in a car accident then getting the police to help them cover-up is a major story for months. Maybe If you are a Kennedy you get away with it. Didn't daddy get to stay in the Senate for decades despite his car accident cover-up? Or maybe the press is really biased. They might not want attention being diverted from the current Bush crisis. The Dems were able to quash the Cynthia McKinney scandal after all. I guess the media will have to give up this juicy story to the main goal of gaining Democratic control of the Congress.
