Waiting for the Next Disaster: Are we Helpless?

George Bush is arguably the most disastrous president in American history. In his 5 years in office we've seen 9-11, Katrina, and the Iraq War. We can expect more from this most inept man. There is no doubt. But what will it be? Another terror attack on U.S. soil? Another hurricane or some other natural disaster that costs hundreds of lives because there aren't enough National Guard or resources to deal with such a potential crisis. We are broke as a nation, after all. Or how about an attack on Iran? That certainly will be disastrous since it would most certain lead to international outrage and retaliation. Or how about an invasion of Taiwan by China? This administration is so submissive to Beijing that it could invite aggression in the near future. Or how about a radioactive leak from a Nuclear power plant? That is certainly a disaster waiting to happen. We've already had a blackout that affected million of Americans. And lets not forget the Bird Flu threat. Bush will certainly find a way to make the threat worse. And don't forget the stock market. Its already taken a plunge in recent days after receiving what it perceived as bad news. Remember the last time the stock market collapsed? The Republicans were in control back then as well.

We are destined for dark days in the future because we've suspended our willingness to question what our government and ruling class are doing to us. We've allowed this president to run this country into the ground without much of a protest. The only people protesting are those who don't even love America. September 11th should've been a wakeup call. Instead we went on with our indifference. Now we sit back and watch on the evening news as we see the demise of our country. We do have an option. We can choose to fight. Just as those brave Americans do in Iraq and Afghanistan. They are willing to fight and die for us. We should be willing to at least stand up to tyranny in the White House.
