House Votes to Give Themselves a $4,400 Pay Raise

They should be giving back some of their salary. America is broke and cannot afford to pay a corrupt Congress pay raises. How offensive is it for a legislature to raise their own pay. The people should decide whether they deserve a raise. These people are clever, Congress knows we won't vote the entire bunch out. In fact, being elected to Congress is essentially a job for life. That is just another example of how we've lost control over our own government:

Despite record-low approval ratings, House lawmakers Wednesday voted to accept an approximately $4,400 pay raise that will increase their salaries to almost $170,000.
