Nobel Peace Prize Winner and Message Ignored

I wonder how many people know who is Muhammad Yunus:
Muhammad Yunus, the Bangladeshi economist, has received the Nobel Peace Prize and has urged world leaders to stop wasting money on wars like the one in Iraq.

For What did he win the award:
They [Yunus and Grameen Bank] won the prize for their work to lift millions out of poverty by granting tiny loans to the poorest of the poor, especially women in rural Bangladesh.

Yunus has a solution for what ails the world: eliminate poverty. It is world poverty that is the root cause of wars. Is anybody listening? Does anybody care? Certainly not in the U.S. I had to use a quote found in al Jazeera (the news outlet condemned as the mouth piece of al Qaeda) because I couldn't easily find it on a major news outlet. In fact, a Google news search turns up 5 times as many articles on Paris Hilton than on Muhammad Yunus (7010 to 1430).

That might explain why America, and the World, are going down the toilet.
