The Path to 9/11 Movie: Clinton not Only One to Blame

ABC showed some backbone by not canceling the showing of the hotly disputed "The Path to 9/11." The fact that it cost $40 million to make had something to do with the networks relucatance to give in to demands the movie not be shown.

My viewing of the docu-drama (Sunday's 3 hours) shows the movie to be a valuable expose of our governments ineptitude in dealing with terrorism. It isn't simply an attack on Clinton. It's about bureaucratic failure. The docu-drama also points to the need for the return of a domestic spy agency. The FBI is not suited for fighting international terrorism.

Despite this, over and over again we see dedicated agents who did their jobs in tracking al Qaeda being stifled by management, whom were more interested in red tape than protecting American lives. That is the nature of our government today. The buck doesn't stop with me, should be the motto. Everyone is interested covering their own tails. Public service comes a distant second to legal niceties and career advancement.

Every character in the film who tries to do the right thing is stifled by some small-minded guy in a suit mouthing the bureucratic party line. It was politics that ruled, not catching Bin Laden.

The fact that both WTC attacks could've been easily prevented is an indictment of government as a whole not just Clinton or Bush.
