Elizabeth Vargas was forced to step down from her evening news post on ABC despite her claim she left to spend more time with her family. Ratings for the evening news had been poor. Therefore, they will replace her with another white male. It will be interesting to see how the ratings for ABC will pan out. Katie Couric should be worried. She claims she will put an end to "pretentious era" reporting on the evening news when she takes over at CBS. Is that a crack at Dan Rather? Good luck. They are paying her all that money to reform journalism. Right. That comment reminds me of Clinton -- Mr. Corruption -- calling for end to "crony capitalism." Speaking of corruption, former Bush official David Safavian denied doing dirty business with Abramoff during his trial.

As the Haditha allegations grow louder in seems like a good time to starting pulling out. The people of Iraq do not trust us anymore. The government in Iraq is accusing U.S. troops of routinely murdering civilians. The longer we stay in Iraq the worse it becomes for American prestige and morale. Its looking more and more like the Vietnam War.

Condoleezza has given the best evidence so far that the Bush gang is planning an Iran attack later this year. She will be appearing on the talk shows this Sunday again trash talking. The Bushies should be more worried about Russian and Chinese support for the Iranians.

It seems not even the Russians are exempt from attacks from insurgents in Iraq. Their diplomats have been kidnapped and murdered.
