This isn't the first time the question of tactical nuclear weapons has come up in conjuction with plans to attack Iran's nuclear facilities. There have also been some arguing in favor using these types of weapons. There was even some outrage when Seymour Hersh exposed the administration's playing with the idea of using tactical nuclear weapons.

Israeli and American officials have met several times to consider military action. Military analysts said the disclosure of the plans could be intended to put pressure on Tehran to halt enrichment, cajole America into action or soften up world opinion in advance of an Israeli attack.
