Hillary Clinton: I'm Going to Buy the Presidency

Hillary Clinton doesn't believe she can win the White House on the issues. Her strategy is to win the White House by raising the most money. It succeeded before when she got elected Senator of New York without even being a New Yorker and without any qualifications:
White House hopeful Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton will not accept public campaign financing for either the Democratic primaries or, if she wins the nomination, the general election campaign.

Clinton's decision had been widely expected given her and her husband's proven ability to raise vast sums of money quickly. Her advisers have not disputed estimates that she will raise $100 million or more before the year is out.

What is tragic is that the other candidates will feel forced to follow suit. This would be a blow to democracy in America. It puts the financiers and the deep pocketed donors in total control. What is the saddest of all, many Well meaning Americans believe that somehow Hillary represents them. Loyal Democrats support her because her husband was the President. Many of those supporters have forgotten how the Clintonistas almost destroyed the Democratic Party.

What is most obnoxious about all this is that not even Bush, in the last election, opted out of public financing for the general election:
While both President Bush and Democratic challenger John Kerry rejected public funding for their primary campaigns in 2004, they did accept $74.5 million each for the general election campaign. The funding for the general election was expected to reach $85 million for the major party candidates in 2008.

Your a fool if you believe there is nothing wrong with a candidate essentially buying the Presidency. We have lost our democracy. And its been replaced by a plutocracy/aristocracy.
