Former VP Mondale Denounces Current VP Cheney

Isn't shameful that even former VPs are denouncing this administration including the current Vice President:
Vice President Dick Cheney has bullied federal agencies and given absurd advice about Iraq and risks to the United States, Walter Mondale said Friday, adding that never would have been tolerated when Mondale was vice president.

It is particularly shocking that Cheney is accused of very serious abuses of his office by President Carter's right-hand man:
"I think Cheney's been at the center of cooking up farcical estimates of national risks, weapons of mass destruction and the 9/11 connection to Iraq," he said.

Cheney's spokespeople didn't have the nerve to give more than a tepid defense:
Lea Anne McBride, a spokeswoman for Cheney, had this response to Mondale's comments: "Twice elected to serve with President Bush, the vice president is committed to protecting Americans from those who wish to do us harm." She also cited a September television interview in which Cheney said he would take issue with "any suggestion we've gone beyond where we should have."
