Iraq President Wants U.S. Troops for Another 3 Years

Talabani wants another 3 years for Iraqi forces to get their sh** together. How about NOT! The government over there can't seem to agree on anything:
President Bush insists that we have no conflicts with the al-Maliki government. The president isn't telling the truth - or he himself doesn't support our military's efforts. He can't have it both ways. Bush appears increasingly desperate just to get through the upcoming elections. The only thing they have in common is incompetence. The insurgents don't have that problem.

The Kerry flap withstanding, Democrats have a shot at gaining control of the Senate:
Democrats have at least slim leads in races for six of the seven most vulnerable Republican Senate seats, giving them a shot at winning control of the Senate on Tuesday, according to Reuters⁄Zogby polls released on Thursday.

This is why Bush is desperately campaigning for Republicans:
President George W. Bush launches a final drive on Thursday to try to help Republicans maintain control of the U.S. Congress, arguing that the United States must stay in Iraq despite the war's unpopularity.

"I think most Republicans understand that if we were to leave before the job is done, America will be less secure," Bush said on Wednesday in an interview with Reuters and other news agencies.
