Cheney goes Begging to the Saudis for Help

Like the little boy who runs to his mother after the neighborhood bully has been picking on him, Cheney has decided to visit the Saudis:

Vice President Dick Cheney sought Saudi help on Saturday in dealing with Iraq's spiraling violence and other regional trouble spots where U.S. policy is on the line: Iran, Lebanon and the Palestinian territories.

Let's see how long this ceasefire lasts:

An Abbas spokesman said later in Gaza City that Palestinian armed factions had agreed to stop their military activity in Gaza on Sunday morning and reinstate a truce reached in Egypt in February 2005. Olmert has agreed, in turn, to halt Israeli military operations in the coastal strip, Nabil Abu Rdeneh said.

It could mean that the Israelis are turning their attention elsewhere. Like Lebanon. Recent events there warrant vigilance.
