Colin Powell: I Told Bush, Rumsfeld We Needed More Troops
Former Secretary of State Colin Powell urged Bush before the Iraq war to send more troops to the country. We now know the administration ignored all advise on the matter. Powell says he made his recommendation to General Franks, who developed and executed the Iraq invasion, along with Rumsfeld. In recent weeks the Defense Secretary has come under fire (pardon the pun) for his failure to demand more troops to fight in Iraq.
