$10 Billion a Month to Fight Iraq War

The cost of the war is now costing Americans almost $10 billion a month. The total cost of the war by the end of the year will be $282 billion. And it keeps going up. None of this is paid for. Its all borrowed money. That’s money that doesn’t go towards for paying for education, health care, Social Security, hurricane relief, etc., etc. Meanwhile, interest rates, gas and the cost of living goes up. Is it worth it? Unless you buy into the myth that we are in Iraq to stop terrorism. Maybe that’s Bin Laden’s plan – to bankrupt America:

  • "In a video released Friday, the al-Qaida leader boasted that for every $1 his terrorist organization has spent on strikes, it has cost the United States $1 million in economic fallout and military spending, including emergency funding for Iraq and Afghanistan. "
  • Bin Laden: "credited the religiously inspired Arab volunteers that he fought with against the Soviets in Afghanistan with having 'bled Russia for 10 years, until it went bankrupt and was forced to withdraw in defeat...So we are continuing this policy in bleeding America to the point of bankruptcy...'
