CBS Fires Imus: What Took So Long

It wasn't until the uproar over the latest obscenity coming out of Imus' mouth before he lost his job. Other shock jocks have been similarly fired for outrageous, racist and offensive language. But the fact remains that the media continues to condone this behaviour. And lets not forget how rap "artists" use the same language. There have been some who have condone the double standard on the grounds that its ok for blacks to attack blacks but not whites.

The truth is--hate sells. If you watch FOX you get a healthy dose of it. Lou Dobbs (in his typical patriotic self) pointed out that hypocrisy today. Howard Stern is still as popular as ever. And don't be surprised if Imus gets a job with some other media outlet--most likely Sirius or XM. The greatest beneficiaries of of the Imus firing are fellow race baiters, Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson. Hate speech is alive and well.
