Bush White House Strong Arms Scientists on Global Warming

It seems that the approach of this administration to everything is to bully everyone and anyone who stands in their way. First they used pressure tactics to get the intelligence community to go along with their propaganda on Iraq before war, now they they want the scientific community to twist the facts on global warming:

U.S. scientists were pressured to tailor their writings on global warming to fit the Bush administration's skepticism, in some cases at the behest of a former oil-industry lobbyist, a congressional committee heard on Tuesday.

This is not the behaviour of a democratic and civilized society. America has reverted to the ignorance and intolerance of pre-World War II. The tactics used by this White House on a whole host of issues is closer to fascism than a modern democracy. And we are too corrupt and brainwashed as a nation to realize it.
