New Dem House Intel Chief Just as Ignorant as Bush

You might've heard by now that the incoming Chairman of the House Intelligence Committee is just as dumb about world affairs as George W. Bush. Another Texan that doesn't know much about the world outside of the State. But it shouldn't be a big surprise. Nancy Pelosi didn't choose Silvestre Reyes for his credentials. He was picked because it was the politically expedient thing to do:

She rejected the panel's top-ranking Democrat, Rep. Jane Harman of California, who has had strained relations Pelosi. Next in line in terms of seniority was Rep. Alcee Hastings of Florida, a former federal judge ousted from that post amid allegations of corruption.

The most egregious example had to do with the question on whether he knew the difference between Shiites and Sunnis. He also didn't know who or what was Hezbollah. This is the man who will be charge of formulating our national security policies in the House of Representatives:

We’re talking about the head of the damned House Intelligence Committee in an era of U.S. confrontation with the 1.2 billion Muslims on the planet admitting he lacks even minimal knowledge about that world religion.

With people like Bush and Reyes in charge of our national security, is it any wonder we are in the mess we are overseas?
