Jimmy Carter: Israeli Treatment of Palestinians Apartheid

It is rare for any U.S. politician to criticize Israel. So when a former President denounces the Isreaeli treatment of Palestinians that is major news. Or so you would think. The fact is that the statements by Carter have gotten little press coverage. That's by design. It is a common tactic of the powerful pro-Israel lobby in America to ignore or suppress any stories that are critical of Israel. Brilliant tactic. If its ignored by the press It didn't happen. This is how America is kept in the dark about our governments suicidal support for Israel:
Former Democratic President Jimmy Carter called Israeli "domination" over Palestinians "atrocious" during an interview Monday on ABC's Good Morning America[...]

A courageous man:
Carter said that there was "no doubt now that a minority of Israelis are perpetuating apartheid on the people in Palestine, the Palestinian people."

***
A victory for the constitution:
A federal judge struck down President Bush's authority to designate groups as terrorists, saying his post-Sept. 11 executive order was unconstitutionally vague, according to a ruling released Tuesday.

The Humanitarian Law Project had challenged Bush's order, which blocked all the assets of groups or individuals he named as "specially designated global terrorists" after the 2001 terrorist attacks.
