Gimmicks Instead of Solutions to Iraq War
First you had Senator McCain, who is running for President, calling for the sending of more troops to Iraq. Now we have Congressman Rangel, who has obviously been on Capitol Hill too long, calling for the reinstatement of the draft. What does this have to with solving the most pressing issue of the day: Iraq.
Obviously, Bush, who has abandoned the war in Iraq in favor of starting a new war with Iran and Syria, has left the problem to the Democrats. We might end needing the draft if this President gets his way. The election "whipping" has not deterred that very stupid man occupying the White House. And we aren't getting much leadership from the Democratic front runner, Hillary Clinton, either. Therefore, we are left with political gridlock (i.e., chaos) in Washington just as exists in Baghdad. The only difference is you don't have Republicans blowing up Democrats on the streets. At least not yet.
