Bush on Election: America is soft on Terrorism

Bush gets rebuked along with his corrupt, rubber stamp Congressional majority:
Americans delivered a sharp rebuke to President George Bush and the Republican leadership in Congress, sweeping Democrats into power in the House for the first time in a dozen years and dismantling most if not all of the Republican Senate majority.

***
Dems close to winning Senate:
If the parties split the Virginia and Montana races, that would create a 50-50 breakdown in the Senate, assuming that Sanders and Lieberman will caucus with the Democrats. In that event, Vice President Dick Cheney's constitutional authority to break tie votes would keep the Senate under Republican leadership.

***
If you had forgotten why Bush got Beat:
As of Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2006, at least 2,837 members of the U.S. military have died since the beginning of the Iraq war in March 2003, according to an Associated Press count. The figure includes seven military civilians. At least 2,275 died as a result of hostile action, according to the military's numbers.

But Bush is still ticking. But can he win anything?:
The Bush administration is urging the Supreme Court to uphold a nationwide ban on a disputed abortion procedure, the high court's most contentious foray into the abortion issue under the leadership of Chief Justice John Roberts.

***
Cspan is reporting that all the marijuana iniatiates failed. Every call for raising the minimum wage succeeded. All banning of abortions failed.

***
The stock market is dropping today, a day after the defeat of the Republicans. Yesterday the DOW went up over 100 points. Does that suggest a sympathy for Republicans? Hmm!

***
The killing goes on:
At least 35 soldiers were killed and dozens were wounded this morning after a suicide bomber blew himself at a military training base in northwestern Pakistan, military officials said.
