US Concerns over China Weapons in Iraq

The Bushies are fond of pointing out Iran's involvement in Iraq. You won't hear them threatening China despite that country supplying the weapons used to kill our troops. It just isn't convenient:
The US has raised concerns with the Chinese government about the discovery of Chinese-made weapons in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Richard Lawless, departing senior Pentagon official for Asia, on Friday said Washington had flagged the issue with Beijing. In recent months, the US has become increasingly alarmed that Chinese armour-piercing ammunition has been used by the Taliban in Afghanistan and insurgents in Iraq.

Instead we get the kind of propaganda used prior to the invasion of Iraq 4 years ago:
Evidence that Iranian territory is being used as a base by al-Qaeda to help in terrorist operations in Iraq and elsewhere is growing, say western officials.

It is not clear how much the al-Qaeda operation, described by one official as a money and communications hub, is being tolerated or encouraged by the Iranian government, they said.

What this article doesn't mention is that al Qaeda is inciting violence against the Iranian-backed Shiites in Iraq. But truth is the first casualty of war.
