Health Care Costs Are out of Control

Health care costs are either destroying families or driving others into poverty:
Health care is expected to account for $1 of every $5 spent in the United States in another decade.

That means a rise in out-of-pocket expenses, such as the copays for medicine, from about $850 this year to about $1,400 in 2016, a 5.3 percent annual increase.

Our costs are the highest in the world:
"America's per capita health spending is the highest in the world," he said. "There is simply no place on the economic leader board for a nation that spends a fifth of its domestic product on health care."

Between all those malpractice law suits, fraud and waste, HMOs, emergency rooms full of people with no insurance - the cost of which is passed on to people with insurance, the high cost of prescriptions, costly procedures, you have a system that is in crisis. Where is the government in all this? When is the last time you heard a politician discuss the issue with a sense of urgency. All our industries are fleeing the country because of the high cost of health insurance for their employees.
