McCain Tries to Scapegoat Rumsfeld
John McCain, who obviously will say whatever will get him elected President, puts all the blame for current morass in Iraq on former Secretary of Defense, Donald Rumsfeld. By doing this the Arizona Senator can have it both ways. He can find a scapegoat while avoiding criticism of the man who hired and protected Rumsfeld throughout his tenure:
How can you accuse the Secretary of Defense of mismanagement and not also blame his boss, the commander-and-chief? And shouldn't McCain be guilty of the same incompetence for calling for a surge in troops when the generals, along with the American people, believe that we should be trying to leave Iraq not escalating the current fiasco over there?
