al Qaeda Strikes U.S. Again: This Time It's With Heroin

The resurgent Taliban, and al Qaeda, in Afghanistan are funding their war with the U.S. using profits obtained from the trafficking of Heroin. It is this drug that will do as much harm to America as a dirty bomb or plane flown into a skyscraper:
High-potency heroin from Afghanistan is causing a surge in deadly drug overdoses in Los Angeles County, officials said, according to a report in the Los Angeles Times.[...]The Times cited a Drug Enforcement Administration report it obtained as saying that the poppy fields in Afghanistan have become the fastest-growing source of heroin in the U.S.

Some of that drug money is going towards funding the insurgency in Iraq:
Coalition troops have seized $30 million worth of heroin intended for sale on Iraqi streets by rebel cleric Muqtada al-Sadr's militia, the former commander of the 9,000-strong Polish force in south-central Iraq says.

And some of those drugs are reaching our troops in Iraq:
Their customers are mainly Iraqi civilians, but officials do not rule out that some of the drugs have reached coalition troops. Marijuana and hashish also are readily available across Iraq.

Don't think al Qaeda isn't aware that Americans are susceptible to drug use. It was a major problem in Vietnam. We can expect drug use in America to explode in the years to come. You can be assured that Homeland Security hasn't anticipated this kind of terrorism attack--drugs.
