Media Willingly Duped by JonBenet "Killer"
Some psycho comes forward and claims to have killed Jon Benet and the media turns it into a circus. Although they point out the inconsistencies in the claims of this individual (who will go nameless by me), the press is getting great mileage out of it. Where was the press all these years while the killer of Jon Benet walked free. They don't care. Its all about the sensationalism. The would be killer is getting exactly what he wants: fame. The press doesn't care that there is no evidence implicating this scum from Thailand. Why doesn't the press turn its attention to the fact that they are being duped and ask hard questions from the authorities in Colorado who are investigating someone with no ties to the murder?

One Bloggers perspective:
"I love it when entertaining, sensationalistic news stories refuse to die. The outrageous crime drama of JonBenet Ramsey has lived four years longer than the child herself. Now, less than two months after Patsy Ramsey has died from ovarian cancer, an arrest in the case has been made. Conclusive DNA testing will take a week and we won't know until then if John Karr is the actual killer of our favorite dead six year old. So until then, we can speculate all we want, gobble up the news stories and continue to revel in this wild melodrama."

"Salacious speculation and inconsistencies aside, this arrest has served to 'back page' a lot of very important news items this week, since there is no more salient an issue than the arrest of a suspect in a 10 year old murder case."

"In the news this morning we have yet another bloodbath in Iraq, as gunmen shoot up a Shiite religious procession in Baghdad, killing at least 16 people and injuring 230. More American troops have been killed in Afghanistan by Taliban insurgents -- guess we didn't really get rid of the Taliban before George W. Bush's Iraq disaster was started -- and there's renewed trouble in the tenuous Middle East cease-fire....And what's the top story on all the cable news channels this Sunday morning?...The JonBenet Ramsey case and the gripping fact that newly-discovered suspect John Mark Karr is on a plane and coming back to the United States....Are you kidding me? Really. Are you freaking kidding me?"
