al Qaeda Drive Around in Iraqi Government Vehicles

Valerie Plame says the Washington Post editorial (last September) is like reading "Pravda." The paper said the White House did not retaliate against Joe Wilson and Valerie Plame. Plame said it was a conspiracy to discredit Ambassador Wilson. She appeared on the Today Show this morning, and on 60 Minutes Sunday. She is a very credible critic of a not so credible White House.

We are doing so well in Iraq that al Qaeda is forced to ride around in Iraqi government vehicles. Don't worry General Petraeus is on it. And we all know that he is a miracle worker. Nevertheless, his plate full with what he believes is a growing "threat" from Shiite extremists, this while Sunni influence is diminishing. Some in the U.S. government aren't convinced that we have very many options:

[...]a U.S. Embassy official, who like others spoke on the condition of anonymity because the plan is not finalized.

The plan also acknowledges that the U.S. military -- with limited time and troops -- cannot guarantee a wholesale defeat of its enemies in Iraq, and instead is seeking "political accommodation" to persuade them to end the use of violence, the officials said.

Democrats are fighting amongst each again. This is why a Democratic controlled city is run by successive Mayors who called themselves Republicans:

Top Democrats fear that Gov. Spitzer's controversial plan to grant driver's licenses to illegal aliens has endangered their party's candidates across the state - and even threatens the presidential prospects of Hillary Rodham Clinton, The Post has learned.

A half-dozen senior Democrats told The Post that Spitzer's licensing plan is producing what one called "a mass exodus" away from
the party's candidates that may lead to unexpected losses in November's local
elections.

If at this point you don't know that this administration is desperately trying to seek war with Iran, I have a bridge to sell you. Just recently Geroge Dubya was talking about World War III, now Cheney is making threats warning Iran will never be allowed to get the bomb:

"Our country, and the entire international community, cannot stand by as a terror-supporting state fulfills its grandest ambitions," Cheney said in a
speech Sunday to the Washington Institute for Near East Studies.

Dennis Kucinich is not fooled, to his credit, even if he sounds weird sometimes:

"You can worry about the apocalypse, or, you can ensure it by manipulating intelligence and, with pre-meditation, put your finger on the trigger that will make Iran the next deadly domino in the President's irresponsible and irrational approach to the complex and sensitive political issues that make the region a more volatile tinder box than ever before," Kucinich said.

John Bolton, the maddog neocon who couldn't be confirmed as the U.S. ambassador to the UN, is saying in his book that the Bush administration's foreign policy is in "free fall." Coming from him that is saying alot. It was the question posed on C-SPAN this morning.

Once again the stock market's health is in serious doubt. After Friday's big drop on Wall St., world markets have continued their slide.
