Taliban Reject Overture from Afghanistan's Government

Why would you offer the enemy a role in the government if you are winning? Does George know about this? If not, does support such a betrayal of our troops? Isn't the president, and his apologistts, accusing those wanting to get our troops out of Iraq defeatists? Sounds to me like the classic--if you can't beat them, join them:

The Taliban will "never" negotiate with the Afghan authorities until U.S. and NATO forces leave the country, a spokesman for the group said Sunday, again rebuffing an overture for peace talks from President Hamid Karzai.

Karzai had said Saturday that he would be willing to meet personally with the Taliban leader, Mullah Omar, and give militants a position in the government in exchange for peace.
