Romney Dominates ABC Debate
Here is my take on the ABC debate taking place this morning:
Mitt is sounding like a Republican presidential nominee. He spoke with confidence and poise. It is clear in my mind that he will be the Republican choice when the primaries are said and done next year. He exuded confidence while easily deflecting criticism.
That does not mean he had the best arguments. Senator Brownback called for a 3-state solution Iraq while admitting there was serious problems with situation there. Unfortunately his solution won't get any serious consideration.
Ron Paul once again made usual anti-war comments. He received mixed responses for the audience, suggesting many there were part of his fanatical support group. The Texas Congressman also blasted VP Cheney as the power behind the throne.
Governor Huckabee had the best arguments on health. He decried a system that focuses on sickness rather than on prevention. His performance was impressive although it won't be enough to get him much attention.
Giuliani got the best audience response. His comments consisted of his telling us how qualified he is and about all things he accomplished. He did well but at times sounded like a windbag. Although he was not as "presidential" as Romney. The former Mayor does not have the polish of the former Massachusetts Governor.
McCain was absolutely obnoxious. He kept talking about how we were winning in Iraq and how well things were going there. Although he was right in saying that he best qualified to be President, his views on the war are laughable. He is a terrible Presidential candidate.
