Chaos Follows After Republicans Walk Out in Protest after House Vote

With Congress at historic lows in job approval ratings, this is how they respond. This is not what voters had in mind when they ended the GOP majority in the House and Senate:
In a massive flare-up of partisan tensions, Republicans walked out on a House vote late Thursday night to protest what they believed to be Democratic maneuvers to reverse an unfavorable outcome for them.

The flap represents a complete breakdown in parliamentary procedure and an unprecedented low for the sometimes bitterly divided chamber.

Republicans were probably upset that their plans to leave Washington for one month were delayed by their leader, George Bush:
The Associated Press reports, "The president, who has the power under the Constitution to keep Congress in session, said lawmakers cannot leave for their August recess this weekend as planned unless they 'pass a bill that will give our intelligence community the tools they need to protect the United States.'"

This is a very clever ploy by this devious President to get the Congress to pass legislation that might not be good for America because they want to get started on their vacation:
"We've worked hard and in good faith with the Democrats to find a solution, but we are not going to put our national security at risk," Bush added. "Time is short."
