This event only makes the disliked military ruler in Pakistan more unpopular. It strengthens the hand of the religious extremists, especially al Qaeda, in that country. The takeover over of Pakistan by the religious political parties would be serious blow to the war on terror and a victory for al Qaeda:
Pakistani troops attempted to flush out holdouts entrenched inside a women's religious school after raiding Islamabad's Red Mosque in fierce fighting Tuesday. A government official tells CBS News that 50 militants died in the first two hours of the attack.
