China Executes Ex-Food & Drug Watchdog

This article sounds laudatory. Nevermind that executing people is a common thing in China. What the liberal press doesn't recognize is that the government is using the execution as public relations (propaganda). The fact is the totalitarian Chinese authorities have known and condoned poor food quality for years. You can bet big business in America is praising the scapegoating going on in China. They certainly don't want that cash cow to be adversely affected in any way:

China executed the former head of its food and drug watchdog agency Tuesday for allegedly approving untested medicine in exchange for cash, the strongest signal yet from Beijing that it is serious about tackling its product safety crisis.
