Republicans probably feel that since Reagan was an actor and the Governator were former actors, why not have another real actor in the White House. Might as well turn politics into a prime time series. It is preferable to reality:

Rudy Giuliani — who yesterday announced his support for abortion rights, gun control and gay rights — is challenging the conservative base. And Mitt Romney is battling concerns over his Mormon religion.
