27 Killed in Pakistan Political Violence

Are we headed to civil war in Pakistan? Such an occurrence would have catastrophic consequences, since we depend on the Pakistanis in the war on terror:
Government supporters and opponents turned neighborhoods of Pakistan's largest city into battlegrounds Saturday, leaving at least 27 people dead in the worst political violence since President Gen. Pervez Musharraf suspended the chief justice.

This is what you get when you support an unscrupulous dictator. al Qaeda knows how important Musharraf is to the United States. And they would be home free if his military dictatorship collapsed. It is ironic that the U.S. is in effect supporting tyranny over democracy in Pakistan. That is why the White House remains silent on the question of Pakistan:
Critics accuse Musharraf of trying to sideline the independent-minded Chaudhry to head off legal challenges to his plan to seek a new five-year term later this year. The government maintains Chaudhry's March 9 ouster was not politically motivated and that he had abused his office.
