Bush Hypocrisy on Middle East
There is a great deal of hypocrisy in this White House's foreign policy.
Why is it that the Israelis can talk to Syria about peace but the Bush administration refuses to do so:
And how does Secretary Rice go to Egypt and ignore that countries dictatorial practices, while trumpeting democracy in Iraq:
And you won't hear too much criticism of Russia when that country does business with Iran:
And then there is Pakistan. That dictatorship--you won't hear that word uttered by the Bush gang--created the Taliban and are now ignoring their attacks on U.S. forces in Afghan. You won't hear the White House say too much about it:
It just isn't convenient.
Why is it that the Israelis can talk to Syria about peace but the Bush administration refuses to do so:
Unofficial negotiators from Israel and Syria drafted in secret talks a document they hoped could serve as a framework for a future peace accord, Israel's Haaretz daily said on Tuesday.
And how does Secretary Rice go to Egypt and ignore that countries dictatorial practices, while trumpeting democracy in Iraq:
In the days before Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice met with officials in Egypt, the news media here were filled with stories detailing charges of corruption, cronyism, torture and political repression.
And you won't hear too much criticism of Russia when that country does business with Iran:
Russia has delivered new anti-aircraft missile systems to Iran and will consider further requests by Tehran for defensive weapons, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Ivanov said on Tuesday.
And then there is Pakistan. That dictatorship--you won't hear that word uttered by the Bush gang--created the Taliban and are now ignoring their attacks on U.S. forces in Afghan. You won't hear the White House say too much about it:
Taliban fighters seeking to regain power in Afghanistan are taking advantage of a recent peace deal with the Pakistan government to dramatically increase attacks on U.S. and allied forces in eastern and southeastern Afghanistan, several American military officials said Tuesday.
It just isn't convenient.
