Democrats Won't Beat Republicans for Control of Senate

Unless something dramatic happens (like a terrorist attack, stock market collapse, or Katrina-type disaster) the Republicans will keep control of the Senate. This seems to be the consensus:

"Despite a voter backlash against the GOP, political handicappers say it's nearly impossible for Democrats to win the Senate this fall."

Today on the Chris Mathews show, the overwhelming consensus was that the Democrats would gain control of the House. If predictions are correct this could mean an impeachment for Bush. But only the Senate can remove the President from office. That was the case with Clinton.
