3 Terror Suspects Arrested in Germany
Washington Post:
German authorities said Wednesday that they had disrupted an "imminent" plot to bomb targets that may have included the largest U.S. air base in Europe and Frankfurt's international airport.
Three men were in custody after their arrest in a village in western Germany and police said they recovered large quantities of chemicals for making explosives.
[...]"There was an imminent threat," Jung told ARD television, declining to give details.
The German federal prosecutor's office in Karlsruhe said the three suspects were arrested late Tuesday and described them as members of "an Islamic-motivated terrorist organization." At a news conference, federal prosecutor Monika Harms said there was evidence the men had trained at camps in Pakistan run by a Central Asian network called the Islamic Jihad Union.
