Markos Moulitsas Blows Away Harold Ford on Meet The Press

Markos Moulitsas not only held his own but he buried the DNC head, Harold Ford Jr.

The founder of Daily Kos showed the power of the bloggers and their commitment to principled political dialogue. This debate was a breakthrough for bloggers--along with the recent Kos convention. The politicians can no longer ignore us (if I may include myself as part of the distinguished blogger community).

Markos powerfully argued against the cookie-cutter approach of the DLC that gave us Bill Clinton. What he didn't mention, although alluded to--Slick Willy was very bad for the Democrats. He completely blurred the line between the two parties and made possible the Republican takeover of the Congress, Presidency, and State legislatures (what MM called the "trifecta"). There is never a debate on this central fact. Clinton made the DLC what it is today. All Democrats should denounce this group as Markos did today.

What I want to know is where are the Democratic bloggers on Hillary Clinton. She is clearly following the Bill model, who is obviously advising her. Markos was ambiguous on the show about her. Are you going to support someone who is just as unprincipled as Bill Clinton? The polls show that in a general election, with her high negatives, Billary would have a hard chance at winning. Do you want another Republican President prolonging the war in Iraq?

During a later segment on the program, Margaret Carlson, who hosted the gay forum where all the Democratic candidates attended, called the NY Senator "Slick Hillary" for her stand DOMA (Defensive of Marriage Admendment). She was agreeing with Chuck Todd who pointed out how Billary pulled a "Clintonesque moment" during that same forum. He said her positions allow "her look like she wants to be a liberal but then not act like a liberal."
