Former CIA officer: US to attack Iran within 6 months
Sounds about right. I've been arguing for many months that there is a plan to attack Iran. All the language coming out of the White House suggests they are setting the stage for a strike. The neocons have been planning a confrontation since before Bush came to power. What is frightening is that there is no one in the Democratic party sounding the alarm about the disastrous consequences of such an attack:
I'll leave it to you translate what the White House means by not sufficient, and what are the consequences:
Fox News asked former CIA field officer Bob Baer on Tuesday whether the US is "gearing up for a military strike on Iran." Baer has written a column for Time indicating that Washington officials expect an attack within the next six months.
"I've taken an informal poll inside the government," Baer told Fox. "The feeling is we will hit the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps." His Time column also suggested that "as long as we have bombers and missiles in the air, we will hit Iran's nuclear facilities."
I'll leave it to you translate what the White House means by not sufficient, and what are the consequences:
The White House judged "encouraging" but "not sufficient" an agreement Tuesday by Iran and the United Nations atomic authority on a timetable for Tehran to answer concerns about its nuclear program.
"This is a potentially encouraging development," a White House official said of Iran's deal with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
"But this alone is not sufficient and does not fulfill Iran's obligations to comply fully with (UN Security Council) resolutions and suspend enrichment and reprocessing activities."
