Texas House Speaker Refuses to Surrender Powerful Post Amid Plot to Replace Him

Another powerful Texas politician who refuses who thumbs his nose at the legislative branch. You think he might be inspired by the other tyrant residing in the White House:

Despite a bipartisan plot to oust House Speaker Tom Craddick from his post, the powerful Texan refuses to call it quits.

Craddick, under seige by lawmakers on both sides of the aisle, refused to recognize a motion to consider throwing him out of office Friday night, the Houston Chronicle reported.

And lets hope Dubya doesn't get any ideas from what's happening in Ukraine:

President Viktor Yushchenko summoned several thousand interior troops to the Ukrainian capital Saturday but forces loyal to the nation's prime minister stopped them outside Kiev, raising fears that the two leaders' months-long struggle could turn violent.

Tensions between Yushchenko, who has sought to lead Ukraine into the European Union and NATO, and his rival, Prime Minister Viktor Yanukovych, who seeks to preserve Ukraine's close ties with Moscow, have been building since the president ordered parliament disbanded in April and called new elections.
