Clinton Says Some G.I.’s in Iraq Would Remain

How does Ms.Clinton plan to win the nomination when her views on the Iraq War are so nuanced and contrary to the public sentiment. She is trying to have it both ways. Hillary wants to sound tough on terror while criticizing Bush's conduct of the war, which she supported and refuses to repudiate. She also wants to please her pro-Israel donors in New York, many of whom support the war. Its a tough order especially when your main opponent has a clear position on the war:
Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton foresees a “remaining military as well as political mission” in Iraq, and says that if elected president, she would keep a reduced military force there to fight Al Qaeda, deter Iranian aggression, protect the Kurds and possibly support the Iraqi military.

See what I mean?
