The Other War: Gay Marriage vs. Family Values
There is another war going on involving Americans. This one is being fought on American soil and in the courts. Its a war being fought by American families against armies of lawyers using the American court system. The American politicians most trusted to be defenders of American family values, are AWOL. One politician in particular, the one who could do the most to protect American families, has decided not take arms at all. His name: George Bush.
Many believed when they voted for him thought this president would take up the fight. But he is too busy fighting another war - which he is losing. And if he took up the cultural war going on America he would probably lose that too. He has already lost another domestic war: the war against illegal immigration. This is another issue he has ducked. The rest of the Republican party has chosen not to fight either. They are busy trying to defend Bush's adventures abroad. But they, along with George Bush, are too craven to take up a battle in where they risk getting their hands dirty. Gay marriage and illegal immigration are too controversial. Its much easier to hide behind the "war on terror" canard. Its much easier to let others fight and die than to take up arms themselves:

A federal judge in Boston has dismissed a suit by two families who wanted to stop a Massachusetts town and its public school system from teaching their children about gay marriage, court documents show.
The families last year filed the suit asserting that the reading of a gay-themed book and handing out to elementary school students of other children's books that discussed homosexuality without first notifying parents was a violation of their religious rights.
