Bush Has Out Maneuvered Dems on Iraq
This White House has succeeded in turning a sow's ear into a silk purse. They've diverted attention away from the fiasco in Iraq to the Democrats alledged unwillingness to support the troops. Never mind that the Republicans are ignoring the will of the people. But that was the whole purpose behind the "surge." The White House knew very well that the sending of so few troops to Iraq would do nothing to win the war. It was clever ruse to give the impression that Dems are voting to cut support for our troops. The troops are merely pawns in this sinister game:
